What goes up must come down

We're now getting stuck into our climbing with a couple of missions to Castle Rock at Wharepapa South and a cheeky trip to Harvest Rock in Otorohanga.

Mr Leong's Year 12's saw Taylor and James seemed to not stop climbing most of the day and the Sean's talked about how good they were at climbing just about as much as they were climbing. Regan and William were the motivators keeping everyone's spirits high even with the gloomy weather.

Here are some pics of them lapping it up.

Mr Oliver's Year 12's had a hot sunny day where they were out to try and impress Whangarei girls. Mixing it up between climbing and abseiling, the class worked hard all day. Troy was are head assessor on the abseil, and I think we even saw Drenai there (great to see).

Is it a bird or a plane?

"I could climb that one"

Everybody's smiling

"Did you see that crazy Woman!!"

Easy does it

"I hope this holds"

How do my legs look in these pants?

I Wonder if Chenae's smiling?

Race?

Mountain Biking coming soon....

Starting to climb

So we have now had our first couple of rock climbing trips of the year. One year 13 day at Wharepapa and another day at Extreme Edge in Hamilton for the Mr Oliver's year 12's.

On both trips everyone seemed to go hard, pushing their limits with a couple of falls and plenty of panting (especially from AJ).

This isn't how we did it at Outward Bound

Looks like a nice long climb?

Young Farrelly on his second lead,
I don't think he made it much further than this

Year 11's and Sean

Due to no camera on the Year 11 Taupo field trip i haven't been able to put a video together to show off the shenanigans.

The Trip was full of eating spicy chilli's, ton's of people pushing themselves outside there comfort zone and some wet tents in the morning.

Highlights were watching the "tough boys" wimp out on the kayaking Seal Launch while others went over and over again. Watching people's legs shake (and sometimes tears) on the high ropes course. And people downing chilli's for their use of profanity.

We will be sure to have the camera up and running for the next year 11 trip.

I do have a nice edit from Sean Curtis of his missions over the summer.
