Sorry Team!!

I know its been a long time coming!

Since the last update we've been climbing a lot, had 2 epic 3 day tramps in the kaimais which saw plenty of tears (and smiles from Sam, Bev and Mr Oliver). Next time I think the boys will read the sign. We've had a few mountain bike trips (with videos to come), and a cave trip. Keep an eye out for photos in the hokioi.

Here's the Year 12 Mountain Bike edit from Redwoods and Craters of the moon.

Recent exploits

Sorry there are no videos or photos with this one as someone (Mr Oliver) temporary misplaced the camera.

We have recently had the year 11's out abseiling and rock climbing. With Jake Watts, Rebecca Petch and many others going hard. Keegan Atkinson wet his pants a little bit and so did Morgan Norval I think.

Then we had the 9OEE classes tucking in and doing some track cutting and digging up at Maungatautari. They worked hard for a couple of days (well most of them) and I think they even enjoyed it. It was good to see some TAC kids doing some selfless helping out.

Then the Year 12's and 13's have been out and about lead climbing around the district. There's been some descent falls (some of them a little too big) and plenty of climbing. It'll be good to see how far they can push themselves.

I promise there will be pictures next time

The 2OED Kayak trip for 2014

EYEBROWS?

Sorry it's taken so long. Here is the edit for the year 12 kayak trip.
We started off at Rieds farm in Taupo with a bit of skills work on the flat then rallied to the Mohaka. When we got there it was a raging monster so decided to set up camp and hope it dropped over night . It didn't.
So after a night of hilarious antics we got up and drove another 200km north on a forestry road for a while to the Aniwhenua section of the Rangitaiki River. Here we spent 2 days attempting to surf, whoopeeing, swimming and shaving eyebrows.

Here's a sneak peak it how it went

2014 has kicked off!!!

With 230 students doing Outdoor Ed at Te Awamutu College this year, we are in for another big one.

We have had a couple of trips so far starting off with the Year 11's getting there first aid certificates, the Year 9's have been at Karapiro on the high ropes course and the year 10's climbing at Castle Rock in Wharepapa. There will be some photos for those trips coming up soon.

The Year 13's have also had their 5 day kayak mission. We spent a day brushing up on rescue skills at Reids farm followed by a day on the Mohaka. We then missioned to the Aniwhenua river where we spent 2 days. To end with a bang we headed to the Wairoa river near Tauranga where we paddled the slalom gorge and Danielle, Jake, Mitch and Chester paddled the bottom 3 rapids which finished with a Waterfall.

Year 10 Kayaking

The 3 Year 10 classes recently had their anual kayak trips through Hamilton. We had amazing weather, so there was plenty of flipping, bombing and sponging. Here's hoping we can get some of them rolling before the end of the year.

Here's a mash up of the 3 days.
